Where every story matters
I designed Dingoo as a creator-first streaming platform — black and white by principle — so independent films could ship uncensored on phone, laptop, and the living-room screen.

Product Designer
End-to-end UX across mobile, web, TV, and the creator portal — brand, information architecture, and the upload system.
Selected for SXSW
A multi-platform OTT that treats filmmakers as the product, not the inventory.
Black-and-white brand system and Geomanist-led type
Viewer apps for iOS, web, Samsung Tizen, webOS, Apple TV, and Android TV
Shorties — short-form cinema discovery — and Dingoo Shake
Creator portal: performance, revenue, and a six-module upload
QR login for the living-room, matched to each TV OS’s native patterns
An OTT built for films that have nowhere else to go.
Dingoo is an independent cinema platform — mobile, desktop, and TV — that gives filmmakers complete creative freedom, zero censorship, and full control over how their work is seen and paid for.
Documentaries, animation, genre-defying work: the point is that no story is too odd for the shelf. Unlike mainstream streamers, creators come first. The mission is a community-driven home for Creativity, Freedom, and Diversity — not another catalog of whatever the algorithm already likes.
Streaming is the medium. Changing how independent films are made, shared, and watched is the product.
Black and white. No in-between.
The palette is a policy. Clarity, transparency, no censorship, no compromise. Movies reflect the world as it is — grey is secondary, the way restrictions should be. Type is Geomanist: geometric, bold, a little unforgiving. Fearless on purpose.
No gatekeepers
Creators monetise on an impression-based model. The platform supports the project instead of deciding whether it deserves a slot.
Genre & style agnostic
A wide range of voices that would not find a home elsewhere. Diversity is a catalog principle, not a marketing week.
Creative control
Artistic freedom from script to final cut — including how the film is framed, captioned, and sold.
Innovation past the play button.
The app had to be more than another OTT shell. Saved searches and a Creator Spotlight put filmmakers on the same plane as titles. Two features did the rest of the differentiation.
Shorties
Shorts, for cinema — quick previews, short films, bite-sized synopses. Discovery without committing to a runtime.
Dingoo Shake
Shake the phone to skip to the next episode or land on a new film. A physical gesture for a catalog that is supposed to surprise you. Tap Shorties or Creator spotlight to feel it.

Theater at home, native to each box.
I designed and built Dingoo for Samsung Tizen, webOS, Apple TV, and Android TV. Each OS has its own focus model, density, and remote grammar. The work was to read those guidelines until the interface felt native rather than ported.
QR login so nobody types an email with a D-pad.
Focus states and type sized for ten feet, not a laptop.
Playback chrome — loop, speed, captions — that stays out of the picture until called.
It was my first deep dive into TV design. The constraint — a remote, a sofa, a dark room — is the brief.

A B2C cinema, taken all the way to SXSW.
Dingoo was a stretch: multi-platform OTT, a creator business inside a viewer product, and TV as a first-class surface rather than a leftover. The work was to keep the black-and-white promise consistent from a phone shake to a ten-foot focus ring.
The platform was selected for the SXSW Festival. That still feels like the right ending for a product about independent film.

Happy to walk the flows, the TV constraints, or how the upload stopped being a stepper.
